Intercessory Prayer Ministry

Prayer is the starting point of everything we do.  Our intercessory prayer ministry draws the people together to go before God’s throne in supplication and worship.  Intercession may be defined as holy, believing, preserving prayer whereby someone pleads with God on behalf of another or others who desperately need God’s intervention.

The Holy Spirit is also involved in intercession.  Paul states, “We know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26).  Therefore, the Holy Spirit through the human spirit of the believer intercedes “according to the will of God” (Romans 8:27).  Thus, Christ intercedes for the believer in heaven; the Spirit intercedes within the believer on earth.

The mission, vision, and purpose of our intercessory prayer ministry is to beseech God on behalf of the people and pray, (to intercede) for the nations and the local body; calling down the will and power of God to change the world; knowing that only through “the prayers of the righteous” will His power have its fullest effect.
