True Joy Community Development Center (TJCDC) is a volunteer based initiative aimed at providing at-risk individuals with food, clothing, housing and life changing educational empowerment.  TJCDC's overall goal is to develop and implement programs that promote and strengthen surrounding communities through individual and family empowerment, asset building, and economic self-sufficiency.

Our Vision:  We envision reaching a multicultural and multi-ethnic people, city, and unreached territory through effective strategies, leadership, and training.

Our Corporation Purpose:
The general nature of the objectives and purposes of this Corporation shall be:

1. To operate a community development program in the Harford County, Maryland area and beyond.
2. To enhance the quality of life in the community through various outreach, community development and educational programs.
3. To develop and rehabilitate projects in the State of Maryland towards the end of creating stable neighborhoods by purchasing, leasing, or otherwise acquiring any or all interests in vacant land, industrial, public, residential/commercial real property

Structure
TJCDC is comprised of the following departments:  Social Economic Empowerment, Community Service Outreach, Center of Academics, and Center for Health/Wellness.

1. Social Economic Empowerment:
Mission:  Social Economic Empowerment builds wealth and resources within the community.  Using multiple financing resources, TJCDC seeks to offer solutions to critical social problems hindering the citizens of our community.
Comprised of the following programs:  Women's Counseling Center, Adult Day Care and Nursing Home & Senior Day Care.

2. Community Service Outreach Department:
Mission:  Community Service Outreach is the department within TJCDC which touches the lives of those in need of food, clothing, shelter, an encouraging word and a simple helping hand.
Comprised of the following programs:  Clothing & Furniture, Food Bank, Homeless Prevention, and Transitional Housing.

3. Center of Academics:
Mission:  The mission of the Center of Academics is to equip students through academia to become successful citizens in our communities.
Comprised of the following programs:  Scholarships for High school graduates, GED Preparation, Youth Tutoring, Adult Basic Education/Literacy, Computer Lab, and English as a Second Language.

4. Center for Health & Wellness:
Mission:  The mission of the Center of Health & Wellness is to educate and enhance the lives of others by educating about healthy living, wellness and diseases that affects the general public as a whole. Comprised of Healing Spirit and Hope Wellness Center:
